FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions about Three for Me

How do we get Three for Me Started at our school?
A: First, register your school, parent group, or organization to start Three for Me. Once you complete the registration form, you have permission to use, download and edit any form on our website.

Do we need to register every year?
A: Yes. We require you to register every year at our website in order to have free access and our permission to use anything from the Three for Me website.

If a parent has more than one child at our school, do they sign multiple promise cards?
A: It's really up to the parent. However, we suggest asking parents to volunteer three hours for each of their children. So, if a parent has two children, they should sign a promise card for each child, which equals six hours.

Should we count attending parent group and board meetings toward the three hour promise?
A: Yes, count them. When parents attend parent group meetings, board meetings, school board meetings, etc., you should count it toward their three hour commitment. Each school is unique in determining what to count toward the goal. The idea behind Three for Me is to reach out to parents in new ways to get them involved. Ask parents, teachers, principal and staff for suggestions. Challenge parents to get involved and count it!

How can I submit a great idea to the Three for Me staff?
A: Email us at info@three4me.com, with any great ideas. We may post them to our site to share with everyone!

Can I copy the volunteer forms and parent surveys from your website?
A: Yes. Once you register as a Three for Me school, you have unlimited access to every form and any information on our site. Feel free to make copies to distribute to parents at your school.

What is your email and mailing address?
A: Contact Three for Me at info@three4me.com.

Can we count parents helping children with homework as part of their three hour pledge?
A: This is the most common question that we are asked. What to count and should you count things from home or just from school? Well, here's what we think: Yes, count parent involvement from home. Whether a parent is doing something for a teacher or helping their child with math facts or reading, simply count it! Why only encourage volunteerism IN the school. Challenge parents to be involved from home, too. The kids will surely benefit and your school likely will, also. The point of parent involvement is to help improve the educational experience of the child, while connecting the parent with the school, child, and community.

Can I get the promise cards, certificates in Spanish?
A: The promise cards and certificate will be posted to our website in Spanish soon.

Can we use the Three for Me logo on newsletters, flyers, etc.?
A: Yes, just register first. Then you are free to use the Three for Me logo on flyers and newsletters. However, we ask that you do not alter or change the colors of the logo (b&w or 4-color).

After parents sign the promise card, do we keep them or do the parents keep the promise cards?
A: That's your choice. Some schools have parents sign the card and then keep them as a reminder. Some schools have parents show their card at events so that they can count that time. Some schools keep the cards and post them on a bulletin board for all to see.
